Senior GL Accountant

Description

The Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting functions and ensuring the integrity of financial records in Oracle Net Suite. This role plays a critical part in month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. The Senior GL Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides guidance to junior staff to drive accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee all GL activities, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries in Net Suite.

+ Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations and financial statements.

+ Analyze and interpret complex financial data, providing insights to management and supporting strategic decision-making.

+ Maintain and enhance accounting controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP.

+ Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts using Net Suite, investigating discrepancies as needed.

+ Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation within Net Suite and addressing auditor requests.

+ Mentor and guide junior accountants and contribute to their development.

+ Identify and implement automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

+ Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.

+ 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong expertise in Net Suite and general ledger operations.

+ In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Experience supporting audits, process improvement, and mentoring staff.
