Senior Project Manager – High-End Residential Construction

An established residential builder with a decades-long track record of delivering architecturally significant custom homes is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-value projects from pre‑construction through completion. This organization is known for its commitment to craftsmanship, technical excellence, and long‑standing client and trade relationships.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager will play a critical leadership role in overseeing multi‑million‑dollar custom residential projects. This individual will direct all aspects of planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination while partnering closely with field leadership to ensure seamless execution from concept through final delivery.

Acting as the central point of contact for clients, architects, and consultants, the Senior Project Manager will ensure alignment across all stakeholders while maintaining design intent, budget integrity, and schedule adherence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects through all phases, including pre‑construction, estimating, bidding, procurement, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring coordination between field operations and key milestones
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, architects, engineers, and design teams, maintaining clear and consistent communication
  • Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, invoice approvals, and change order management
  • Review, negotiate, and manage subcontract agreements; lead subcontractor bidding and selection processes
  • Partner with the Site Superintendent to ensure quality control, schedule adherence, and alignment with design intent
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, track decisions, and ensure accountability across all stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks and challenges
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, permitting requirements, and sustainability standards
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Mentor and support junior project management staff
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of project management experience within residential construction, with a strong focus on high‑end custom homes
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and trades
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract management
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, and related software
  • Deep understanding of high‑end residential construction methods, materials, and finishes
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with sustainable building practices or certifications (e.g., LEED) is a plus
  • Familiarity with CAD, BIM, or similar platforms is beneficial but not required
