The company is committed to building communities that create lasting social impact while providing employees with meaningful leadership opportunities, professional development, and the autonomy to manage complex projects from start to finish.

About the Position

The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multi-family affordable housing developments from pre-construction through project completion and handover. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of high-density residential projects while working within a well-supported, integrated developer-builder model.

As the Project Manager, you will serve as the central leader responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination. You will work closely with development teams, design professionals, municipal agencies, and field operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-density multi-family construction projects from buyout and preconstruction planning through final inspections and closeout.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules while proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Take full ownership of project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, buyouts, monthly draws, and change order management.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations and funding requirements, including LIHTC, HUD, prevailing wage, and related programs when applicable.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between development teams, architects, engineers, municipal officials, consultants, and field superintendents.
  • Monitor project quality, safety performance, documentation, and reporting throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership updates on project budgets, schedules, risk management, and overall project status.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing multi-family or commercial vertical construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of high-density wood-frame construction (Type III/V), podium construction, and complex urban site logistics.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets, contract negotiations, cost controls, forecasting, and schedule performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Sage, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing affordable housing developments.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD, prevailing wage, and other affordable housing compliance programs.
  • Experience working within an integrated developer-builder organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $131,000–$181,000.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Professional development, training, and career advancement opportunities.
  • Stable project pipeline and long-term career growth potential.
  • Opportunity to lead impactful affordable housing developments that strengthen local communities.
