About Nclusion
Nclusion is on a mission to bring trusted financial services to the 1.5 billion people worldwide who are still excluded from the traditional banking system. Without a secure way to save, invest, or move money, families and businesses are limited in their ability to build short‑and long‑term wealth. We’re bridging that gap by building modern financial infrastructure and products that meet customers where they are.
AboutThe Role
As a Director of Product Design, you’ll lead and grow a small, high‑impact product design team while staying hands‑on as a player‑coach. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy, turn complex problems into clear user experiences, and lead your team to deliver end‑to‑end flows that are simple, trustworthy, and effective. You’ll raise the bar on craft and systems thinking, help establish strong design foundations, and create lightweight processes that enable speed without sacrificing quality.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Manage design team across core product initiatives, from discovery through launch and iteration, providing guidance on key design decisions and driving data‑driven design.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to define strategy, prioritize opportunities, and be a voice of the user and customer in the boardroom.
- Help to establish a strong design culture and craft across research, experimentation, iteration, and industry‑standard quality.
- Contribute directly to product design work as a player‑coach, especially on high‑leverage or complex initiatives, as needed.
- Build and evolve team workflows, including staying up to date on new tools like AI to improve speed and quality, and research synthesis.
- Support the team's growth through project management, career development, and mentorship, while hiring and developing designers as the team scales, and fostering a healthy, collaborative feedback culture.
- Promote design and design research at the executive and stakeholder levels, helping to determine strategy for when, where, and how design thinking is applied.
- Shape design‑team focused KPIs and OKRs in line with target macro company goals.
- 10+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years managing mid to large size team of designers.
- Strong hands‑on craft, with recent experience shipping multiple end‑to‑end real products at scale with measurable customer impact.
- Experience designing financial, banking, products, or complex transactional flows; bonus for internal tools or operational surfaces, or form‑based workflows.
- High taste and strong storytelling, with a portfolio that shows clarity, usability, and polish.
- Deep empathy for users outside typical US, high‑income contexts; work or travel experience in emerging markets is highly valued.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building systems from early‑stage foundations to rapidly scaling multi‑country presence.
- 401(k) with up to 3% match, plus additional tiered options
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Competitive compensation and equity
- Flexible PTO (a minimum of 14 days off is encouraged)
- In‑office lunch, team events, and culture programming
The base pay range for this role is $210,000 – $260,000 per year.
