Position Overview

The Division of Child Neurology in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking board‑eligible or board‑certified neurologists to join the Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator line. Desirable applicants should bring expertise in pediatric neurogenetics or pediatric neuromuscular medicine or general neurology with emphasis on experience managing genetic therapies.

The major criterion for appointment, reappointment and promotion for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic needs the individual is expected to fulfill. Successful applicants will be encouraged to interact with the wide range of clinical, translational, and basic science programs  are particularly interested in those candidates with clinical expertise in the management of genetic therapies and their potential toxicities in children with neurological diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Care for either neuromuscular or neurogenetics patients.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and clinical fellows.
  • Participate in research, quality improvement, and development of innovative care programs.
  • Work hospital and clinics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) and/or outreach sites in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility ABPN Child Neurology, neuromuscular, or genetics if applicable.
  • Eligibility for a California medical license.
  • Suitable clinical and teaching experience.

Expected Base Pay Range For This Position
  • Assistant Professor: $241,000 - $259,000
  • Associate Professor: $274,000 - $292,000
  • Professor: $319,000 - $331,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
