The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. As the university’s largest school, H&S serves as the foundation of a Stanford undergraduate education no matter which discipline students pursue as a major.
Graduate students work alongside world-renowned faculty to pursue and shape foundational research that leads to breakthroughs and discoveries that shed new light on the past, influence the present, and shape the future. Together, faculty and students in H&S engage in inspirational teaching, learning, and research every day.
Stanford SPARQ, a research center in the Department of Psychology at Stanford University, has an opening for a full-time Social Science Research Coordinator (SSRC). Stanford SPARQ is a behavioral science “do tank” that builds research-driven partnerships with industry leaders and changemakers to address some of the biggest challenges of our time. We work across a variety of areas, including criminal justice, economic mobility, education, health, media, and technology.
Our Faculty Co-Directors are Dr. Jennifer Eberhardt and Dr. Hazel Rose Markus; our Executive Director is Dr. Mar Yam Hamedani. This position will start in the summer of 2026 and last for one year with the possibility to extend the position for a second year contingent on strong performance.
The position is an excellent fit for recent graduates looking to strengthen their research skills before applying to graduate school or working in a research role in industry, government, or the nonprofit world. Applicants should be highly motivated and organized, have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, have a strong desire to develop their research skills, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, data science, or a related social science field and significant experience with social psychology research and methods.
This is a 100% FTE, 1 fixed term non-exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.
If you believe that this opportunity is a match for your knowledge, skills, and abilities, we encourage you to apply. Thank you for considering employment opportunities with the School of Humanities and Sciences.
