The Department of Psychology at Stanford University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with a research focus on developmental and/or social psychology. In addition to other qualities, the Stanford Psychology Department values transparency and openness in science. We encourage candidates to provide in their research statement a description of how these values are reflected in their work to date and their future research plans.

Applicants should describe in their statement their philosophy and preparation to teach courses and mentor students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or in a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Psychology Department, School of Humanities & Sciences, and Stanford University value faculty who will help foster an open and respectful academic environment for colleagues, students and staff with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Candidates may choose to include as part of their research and teaching statements a brief discussion about how their work and experience will further these values.

Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2026; applications will not be considered after October 15th, 2026. The term of appointment will begin on September 1, 2027.

The salary range for this position is $133,235 - $143,916 for the academic year .

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
