We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Fire Plans Examiner to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

• Review fire protection plans and related documents for compliance with California Fire Code, California Building Code, NFPA Standards, policies and jurisdiction requirements for commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
• Projects include new residential buildings, commercial buildings, and remodel projects.
• Assist designers and contractors by providing information and interpretations of codes and regulations; answer applicant questions relating to plan review comments
• Responsible for preparing written correction letters and maintaining and updating records and database information.
• Work with fire and building inspectors to resolve field related code issues and coordinate activities with other municipal departments as directed.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (PE license preferred)
• Current ICC Certification as a Fire Plans Examiner
• California State Fire Training, Plans Examiner Certification
