What To Expect
Tesla's Industrial Products team is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead Megapack 3 — Tesla's next-generation utility‑scale battery energy storage product. Manufactured across multiple global factories and scaling to tens of thousands of units per year, Megapack 3 is a critical part of Tesla's mission. This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role requiring an experienced leader who can manage the complexity of a global, high‑volume hardware product while driving continuous improvement in performance, cost, and market competitiveness.
WhatYou'll Do
- Own the product lifecycle and roadmap for Megapack 3 — from development and factory ramp through global commercialization, sustaining, and continuous improvement.
- Synthesize market trends, customer feedback, and techno‑economic analysis to continuously sharpen the product strategy and improve the overall offering.
- Commercialize offerings into standardized, sellable product configurations — defining variants and specifications for global markets, customer applications, and grid code requirements.
- Lead successful product launches by partnering closely with engineering and commercial teams on positioning, technical documentation, and go‑to‑market readiness.
- Develop training materials, technical content, and marketing collateral that equip global sales and delivery teams to win and execute.
- Collaborate with technical writers to produce documentation for internal and external stakeholders — including Independent Engineering reports, performance and safety data, installation guides, and feature specifications.
- Serve as the primary product voice across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and project delivery — driving alignment across a complex, global organization.
- Partner with global manufacturing teams across multiple production sites to coordinate product changes, quality improvements, and ramp milestones.
- Drive cost reduction and margin optimization across the product lifecycle in partnership with Supply Chain and Engineering, including techno‑economic modeling for high‑impact projects.
- Navigate complex regulatory, certification, and compliance requirements across key global deployment markets.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5‑7+ years of experience in product management or in the energy industry, preferably in the energy storage technology space; experience with launching new products or offerings is a must.
- An overall rock‑solid blend of engineering (electrical, mechanical) and commercial expertise.
- Strong analytical & techno‑economic skills balanced with the ability to make decisions without all the information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe, with demonstrated ability to pivot rapidly.
- Knowledge of renewable energy policies and regulations (e.g., product safety and compliance) is highly desired.
- Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid.
- Medical plans, with $0 payroll deduction.
- Family‑building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits.
- Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both with $0 paycheck contribution.
- Company‑Paid Health Savings Account (HSA) Contribution when enrolled in the High‑Deductible medical plan with HSA.
- Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
- 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits.
- Company paid Basic Life, AD&D.
- Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance (90‑day waiting period).
- Employee Assistance Program.
- Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for hourly positions), and Paid Holidays.
- Back‑up childcare and parenting support resources.
- Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance.
