Role SummaryAs a Functional Safety Engineer - ADAS, you will be responsible for performing the vehicle level functional safety analysis and consulting on all aspects of the feature decomposition and execution throughout the lifecycle. In order to do this, you will work closely with the departmental functional safety engineering resource to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle and provide technical guidance, consult and independent peer review of the system and component engineering.
Responsibilities- Contribute to feature requirements and provide functional safety guidance on feature definition
- Perform vehicle-level HARA and generate safety goals as well as perform DFMEA and FTA analysis
- Derive functional safety requirements (FSRs) and technical safety requirements (TSRs)
- Create vehicle-level functional safety test cases, support vehicle-level testing, and write summary test reports
- Capture requirements within the Rivian requirements tool and maintain traceability and quality
- Work with the vehicle engineering, systems engineering and component engineering teams to progress the functional safety deliverables
- Degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, mechatronics, controls, or software engineering
- 2+ years working as a functional safety or systems safety engineer
- 2+ years of experience within the automotive industry (or equivalent), ideally OEM or Tier 1
- Proven knowledge of ISO 26262
- Experience with the ADAS domain
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA, Doors, etc.) and issue tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)

$116.3K – $145.4K offers equity, offers bonus
The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position.
