One of the country’s largest technology innovators is searching for a talented Validation Engineer to join their dynamic hardware/software engineering team. This exciting opportunity to lead advanced validation services begins as a
12-month W2 contract
with potential for overtime, extension, and possible conversion based on project needs. The position is
100% onsite in Palo Alto, Monday to Friday, 8-5 or 9-6.
- Serve as a primary validation partner for hardware/software design teams and deliver centralized ECU testing services throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and environmental setups—integrating Silicon Validation results into functional and durability testing at the component level.
- Collaborate closely with design partners to architect and build specialized test infrastructures, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and custom bench setups.
- Participate in risk assessments (DFMEA, PFMEA, Bill of Design) to preemptively identify timing and quality issues for customers.
- Lead and plan durability, electrical, and functional tests for electronic control units (ECUs), focusing on high-fidelity execution.
- Conduct Silicon-level performance validation for SoCs and microcontrollers—analyzing power integrity, thermal limits, and signal quality.
- Direct complex root cause investigations for test failures, using data reproduction and fault simulation to resolve hardware and firmware bugs.
- Provide advanced data analytics and reporting from test results to continually refine design and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Standardize technical templates, toolbox assets, and drawing documentation for a unified approach across engineering.
- Manage requirement traceability and validation tracking using JAMA, JIRA, and version control systems.
- Maintain "Lessons Learned" repositories to optimize Bill of Materials and drive ongoing performance and safety improvements.
- Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Proven experience in electronics design and validation—minimum 6+ years in automotive or consumer electronics sectors
- Expert in Silicon-level and ECU validation, including proficiency with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Flexray
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards for testing laboratories
- Hands-on skills in bench testing using oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters, and thermal chambers
- Proficiency with requirement management tools (JIRA, JAMA), and programming in Lab View, Test Stand, and CAPL (highly preferred)
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams
- Collaborative communicator adept at working in cross-functional teams within fast-paced engineering operations
