Senior HR Business Partner | Palo Alto, CA

Agile Robots is a global leader in industrial and humanoid robotics, integrating advanced machine learning and robotic vision to redefine the future of work. Headquartered in Munich with a global workforce of 2,500+, we are now establishing our North American footprint. This is a rare opportunity to join as a foundational member of our US team, shaping the culture and operations of our Silicon Valley Headquarters.

The Role:

At Agile Robot we are deploying the next generation of AI-enabled automation and Physical AI. As our first HR Business Partner in the US, you will be part of the founding team, responsible for establishing and scaling our HR operations, policies, and culture. You will act as both a strategic advisor and a hands‑on practitioner, ensuring our people practices align with our global standards while meeting local needs.

This role requires a pragmatic, results‑driven approach and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities 1. HR Strategy & Operations
  • Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and programs tailored to the US market, ensuring alignment with global HR standards.
  • Build and scale HR infrastructure, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Partner with leadership to define and execute the people strategy, supporting business growth and cultural integration.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management
  • Lead end‑to‑end recruitment efforts, from sourcing to onboarding, to attract top talent in the Bay Area and beyond.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, ensuring a seamless and efficient hiring process.
  • Implement talent development initiatives, including training, career pathing, and succession planning in alignment with our global standards.
3. Employee Experience & Engagement
  • Foster a positive and inclusive company culture, acting as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership.
  • Address employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
  • Design and implement events, off‑sites, and community‑building initiatives that reflect our innovative spirit; engagement initiatives also enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
4. Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
  • Oversee payroll administration and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs, in collaboration with global HR and local vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with US employment laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes and best practices.
5. Leadership Partnership
  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to senior management, providing data‑driven insights and recommendations on people‑related matters.
  • Support leadership in organizational design, change management, and workforce planning.
Experience & Attributes
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Business Partner or generalist role, preferably in a high‑growth environment.
  • Proven track record of building HR functions from the ground up, including policy development, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Californian employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing payroll and benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Pragmatic, hands‑on approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑SCP, PHR) is a plus.
Why Join?

You will be one of the first 10 employees in our US expansion, offering unique visibility into the growth of a global robotics powerhouse. You will have the autonomy to define how our US team operates from the ground up.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and performance‑based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k).
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning in cutting‑edge robotics technology.
