Site Reliability Engineer - PaaS

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Tencent Cloud's PaaS products in the North American region to ensure stability and reliability, resolving technical issues and mitigating risks to keep services operating smoothly in various technical scenarios.
• Utilize tools or platforms such as CI/CD, intelligence, and data to improve the overall efficiency of the operations team, drive product deployment, upgrade and other activities in the region.
• Participate in troubleshooting of PaaS products and resolve problems encountered by customers in the region.
• Drive optimization and upgrades of product architecture and operations by deeply understanding cloud product architecture and technical principles.
• Document operational processes to improve service efficiency and delivery.

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related fields.
• Over 5 years of experience in application development, architecture design or system operations, and experience with operations of services on public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or other Cloud.
• Profound understanding of distributed systems, strong expertise in container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and databases such as MySQL, and experience with commonly used open‑source components including domain, CDN, Nginx, microservices, Redis, Kafka, Elastic Search, etc.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Shell, and Python scripting.
• Strong expertise in Linux systems, TCP/IP protocol, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactive thinking, self‑drive, and keen risk awareness and identification abilities.
• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce technical documents and operational solutions promptly and effectively, and to summarize insights for internal and external dissemination.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $115,800 to $160,000 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign‑on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
