We are looking for a hands‑on, highly organized QA Lab Technician & Operations Manager to take ownership of our hardware testing environment and automation lab. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical hardware setup and software testing. You will be responsible for building automation racks, creating/modifying wiring harnesses, managing lab inventory and logistics, and providing ad‑hoc technical support to our development and QA teams.
This is an active, hybrid‑technical role perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on hardware building, electrical prototyping, and lab operations.
- Own the physical build‑out, mounting, and assembly of automation racks.
- Route and manage cabling (Ethernet, power, custom communication lines) to ensure clean, reliable, and serviceable setups.
- Perform basic OS imaging and initial software configuration on rack‑mounted servers or test PCs.
- Build, modify, and repair custom wiring harnesses (crimping, soldering, pin‑out configuration).
- Perform physical retrofits, upgrades, and modifications to TDKs (Test Development Kits) and automation benches.
- Conduct minor hardware reworks and troubleshooting on ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and testing rigs.
- Own and maintain the flashing stations for In‑Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems and other vehicle components.
- Ensure test benches and TDKs are running the correct software/firmware versions for QA testing cycles.
- Serve as the primary owner of the lab's distribution hub.
- Manage end‑to‑end logistics: coordinate domestic and international shipping/receiving of TDKs, ECUs, and specialized testing components.
- Maintain accurate inventory tracking for TDKs, racks, tools, and miscellaneous hardware components used by the global QA team.
- Provide ad‑hoc technical support to developers and QA engineers facing bench setup issues.
- Help triage and figure out hardware‑related failures, loose connections, or power supply issues.
