MS Data Consultant

W2 only for a 6 month contract (No 3rd party vendors or C2C)

We are seeking a seasoned Azure Data Architect to help drive enterprise data modernization and AI readiness initiatives. This role will focus on assessing, organizing, and optimizing data across multiple business systems to support advanced analytics, reporting, and emerging AI capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience within the Microsoft ecosystem and a strong background in enterprise data architecture, governance, and platform strategy. This is a highly visible consulting role partnering with senior business and technology leaders to establish scalable data foundations for future AI-driven solutions.

• Assess existing data architecture and identify opportunities to improve accessibility, quality, governance, and discoverability.
• Design and implement data strategies that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
• Consolidate and integrate data from multiple enterprise platforms and repositories.
• Establish metadata, taxonomy, and data governance best practices.
• Partner with business stakeholders to define AI and data-driven use cases.
• Develop scalable solutions leveraging Azure and Microsoft data technologies.
• Create recommendations and roadmaps for long-term data modernization efforts.
• Support adoption of modern analytics and AI platforms across the organization.

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Management.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure data services and cloud architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, and Dynamics CRM environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, master data, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience integrating data across enterprise applications and business systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and business leaders.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or generative AI initiatives through data platform design.

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot and AI enablement initiatives.
• Knowledge of ERP and CRM integrations.
• Experience with Alteryx or similar data preparation platforms.
• Consulting background with enterprise-scale transformation projects.
• Familiarity with change management and user adoption strategies.
