PhD Research Intern — Applied AI (NLP​/CV Prototyping

The Mission

We are looking for strong applied AI interns to work closely with our team on problems related to text and image generation, editing and enhancement. The intern is expected to participate in brainstorming sessions and propose ideas to solve real world problems we are addressing /he is further expected to convert those ideas into working prototypes, demonstrating results using either public benchmark datasets or our in-house datasets.

The internship is expected to produce one or more of the following: component(s) in core Typeface product, patent, and publication in top tier venues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a PhD candidate working on and with expertise in NLP and/or Computer Vision research
• Strong fundamentals of NLP and/or Computer Vision algorithms, and Deep Learning systems and algorithms
• Exposure to working on multimodal AI is a plus, e.g. via coursework, previous internships or full-time positions.
• Track record of converting initial research ideas into working prototypes
• Prior publications and contributions to open-source software are a plus
• Prior participation in challenges and competitions are a plus
• Knowledge of common machine learning frameworks, and expertise in Py Torch
• Excellent communication skills
