Senior Manager, Ai Workflow Redesign

We are the movers of the world and makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves, and build a better world – together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Ford's Central AI Team is the enterprise hub responsible for scaling AI and agentic solutions across the company — from the businesses that design and build vehicles to the teams that sell and service them. Central to this effort is making sure AI changes how work gets done by fundamentally redesigning workflows and how jobs get done.

In this position, Ford is building a new capability at the center of our enterprise AI strategy. Reporting into the Central AI Team's Director of AI Strategy, Enablement, & Workflow, the Senior Manager, AI Workflow Redesign is responsible for defining how AI and agentic solutions change the mechanics of work at Ford — who does what, in what sequence, with what handoffs — across Enterprise Bets and the functions that run them.

This role sits between the technical build of an AI capability and the operational reality of a team's day-to-day work, translating what an agent or model can do into an improved workflow.

The ideal candidate has done this before: taken a new capability, sat with the team that use it, found where the friction is, and redesigned the process around it. This is not a role focused on building the AI itself — it's focused on making sure AI-enabled work sticks, at scale, across a matrixed organization. Where skill teams or business units already have dedicated workflow redesign talent, this role's job is to make them better through standards, tools, and coaching.

Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a required four-day onsite presence each week. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Partner with teams across Ford's businesses to define the workflow and role-redesign playbook for AI and agentic solutions, translating new capability into practical changes in how work gets done day to day
  • Lead workflow redesign efforts ensuring AI-enabled operating models improve outcomes across the enterprise
  • Baseline current-state workflows before redesigning. Map how work happens today, including time, handoffs, and volume and identify friction points blocking AI adoption or scale
  • Build reusable redesign playbooks and templates that can be applied across AI opportunities, providing standards, tools, and hands-on coaching to skill teams and business units that already run their own workflow redesign work
  • Own workflow adoption metrics feeding into the Central AI scorecard
  • Manage workflow redesign agency and third-party resources supporting the portfolio, setting scope, pace, and quality bar for their output
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience redesigning workflows, processes, or operating models at team or enterprise scale
  • 3+ years of experience baselining or process-mapping current-state work as a foundation for redesign
  • 2+ years of experience building playbooks or standards
  • 2+ years of experience managing external agency, consulting or vendor resources against scope, timeline, and quality deliverables.
  • 1+ years of experience leading the operationalization and adoption of digital, automation, or AI/ML solutions into day-to-day business workflows acting as the bridge between delivery teams and operational end-users.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's degree
  • Strong communication and coaching skills
  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or other large-scale enterprise organizations with complex, matrixed operating structures
  • Background in process design, organizational design, or change management
  • Experience partnering with HR or L&D on role redesign and training rollout tied to new technology

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply! As an established global company, we offer the benefit…
