Join Our Team as a SOX Manager - Drive Internal Controls and Ensure Compliance
Are you a seasoned SOX professional with a passion for internal controls and IT audits? We are seeking a dynamic SOX Manager to support a critical ongoing SOX audit, playing a key role in safeguarding our client's financial reporting processes. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a talented team, utilize cutting-edge tools, and make a meaningful impact on compliance efforts within a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
- Lead end-to-end SOX testing and documentation, focusing on IT General Controls and business process controls
- Track deficiencies through detailed remediation plans, coordinate evidence collection, and oversee retesting efforts
- Prepare detailed summaries and impact assessments regarding deficiencies, root cause analysis, and aggregated deficiency reports
- Collaborate effectively with co-source partners and internal teams to ensure audit milestones are met
- Utilize tools such as Audit Board and Perpetual AI testing platform; training available
- Maintain meticulous documentation and provide clear communication across all stakeholders
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with ITGC and business process control testing
- Proven ability to manage SOX compliance projects independently
- Strong understanding of deficiency remediation, tracking, and reporting
- Familiarity with audit tools like Audit Board and AI testing platforms
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach
Nice to Have
Skills:
- Experience working with SaaS or technology companies
- Knowledge of external audit processes and working with external auditors like PWC
- Previous experience managing or coordinating external testing teams
- Additional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CPA-equivalent
Preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of SOX compliance and IT audit experience
- Prior experience supporting or leading SOX audits in a corporate or consulting environment
Other Requirements:
- Location preference in the SF or Palo Alto area; open to remote candidates willing to work PST hours 1-2 days per week
- Ability to start ASAP, with an onboarding process that may take up to 2 weeks
- Availability for interviews next week
- This role is a contract position lasting approximately 5-8 months, with a commitment of 40 hours per week
