Information Technology Specialist

We’re partnering with a growing organization in Palo Alto looking for an IT Specialist to join its team on a 12-month contract. This is a hands‑on, onsite support role for someone who enjoys working directly with employees, takes initiative, and looks for ways to improve the IT environment beyond simply closing tickets.

$50–$60/hour

• Provide day‑to‑day IT support for approximately 100 employees in a primarily macOS environment
• Manage a relatively low‑volume help desk, typically 10 or fewer tickets per day
  , allowing time to proactively improve the IT environment
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, account/access, networking, and connectivity issues
• Manage user onboarding, provisioning, and device setup
• Support Okta, Google Workspace, macOS, and Windows
• Assist with conference room and office technology needs
• Use downtime between tickets to shore up documentation, organize and clean up the server room, label ports/cabling, and identify other areas for improvement
• Support basic networking and infrastructure needs
• Partner with IT, Facilities, and other internal teams on day‑to‑day technology needs

• 3+ years of hands‑on corporate IT/help desk experience
• Strong macOS support experience;
  Windows experience also required
• Experience with Okta and Google Workspace
• Working knowledge of corporate networking and basic troubleshooting
• Experience with device management and user provisioning
• Excellent customer‑service and communication skills
• Proactive and forward‑thinking approach—you look for ways to help rather than waiting for the next ticket
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership in an onsite environment

• Experience supporting a biotech, life sciences, or laboratory environment
• Fortinet, Jump Cloud, Jira, or Confluence experience
