Job PurposeOversee and manage assigned staff engaged in facilities management or building/equipment maintenance.
Core DutiesCoordinate daily activities of assigned shop(s), including scheduling, assigning work, directing and supervising workers in completing assigned tasks; monitor progress and make necessary changes; complete performance evaluations; perform quality assurance checks; and coordinate health and safety programs and training.
Track budget for the area of responsibility and provide time and workforce estimates to higher‑level management based on cost analyses, ensuring work is completed in accordance with price agreements.
Implement, interpret, and manage policies and procedures related to operations and facilities management.
Manage service contracts as applicable.
Coordinate construction and renovation activities with Stanford staff, subcontractors, and vendors; support assigned project activities and ensure compliance with larger unit goals.
Minimum RequirementsEducation & Experience:
A combination of education, training, and experience performing responsibilities similar to those listed above.
Ability to coordinate daily activities, including scheduling, quality assurance, program validation, and monitoring of maintenance activities, as well as supervise personnel.
Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors/vendors and monitoring project activities to ensure compliance with internal/external regulations.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting policies.
Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies; ability to conduct job‑site inspections to ensure compliance.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions and communicate those instructions to others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS *Frequently sitting, performing desk‑based computer tasks, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally standing, walking, twisting/bending, stooping/squatting, grasping lightly/fine manipulation, using a telephone, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects that weigh up to 11–20 pounds.
Rarely kneeling/crawling, climbing ladders/scaffolds, reaching/work above shoulders, grasping forcefully, writing by hand, sorting/file paperwork or parts, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects that weigh >40 pounds.
Working ConditionsRequires 24‑hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.
May be exposed to noise >80 dB TWA.
May work at heights of 4–10 ft.
