Key Responsibilities- Independently build optical and mechanical precision sub-assemblies using hand tools, fixtures, and specialized equipment
- Train and mentor assemblers on assembly techniques and processing requirements
- Partner with Engineering to build prototype and pilot products
- Collaborate with Engineering to identify and implement process improvements
- Redline bills of materials and process documentation to support controlled document updates
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair returned or nonconforming assemblies
- Use precision measuring devices and equipment to ensure proper form, fit, and function
- Perform in-process quality inspections on components and assemblies
- Collect, kit, and maintain materials required for sub-assemblies
- Execute standard assembly tasks, including component installation, electrical wiring, hand soldering, cable harnessing, plumbing, bonding, cleaning, labeling, and packaging
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment in accordance with procedures, protocols, and industry regulations
- Experience building complex electro‑mechanical and/or opto‑mechanical assemblies
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and recognize defects or material deficiencies
- Proven troubleshooting skills for moderately complex issues, with the ability to recommend effective solutions
- Ability to support, guide, and assist less experienced operators
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly role
- Strong manual dexterity and excellent hand–eye coordination
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time)
- Ability to routinely bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
The salary range for this position is $25 - $29/hr in addition to a competitive market‑based salary, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit‑sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.
