What you will do (Responsibilities)
  • Establish therapeutic relationships: create and maintain a healing climate, identify and manage discomforts, provide emotional support, guide patients and families through illness and recovery or end‑of‑life phases in accordance with the patient's goals and culture.
  • Mobilize the patient's strengths and abilities toward participation in recovery and control over the plan of care.
  • Diagnostic and monitoring functions: obtain accurate assessment data, interpret it as normal or abnormal, determine nursing diagnosis, monitor and evaluate data frequently based on stability.
  • Plan and implement therapeutic interventions: collaborate with patient, family, and health‑care team to develop individualized plan of care, execute nursing and medical interventions safely, evaluate effectiveness and monitor for adverse responses.
  • Teaching and coaching, patient and staff teaching: assess learning needs and readiness, teach self‑care and illness prevention, adjust content based on patient development, physiology, psychology, and culture, teach staff informally or formally.
  • Effective management of rapidly changing situations: grasp problem situations quickly, activate emergency protocols, respond appropriately.
  • Monitor and ensure quality healthcare practices: monitor own practices, assist in monitoring others for safety and compliance, seek opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Organization and work role functions: integrate multiple requests, set priorities, delegate tasks, seek assistance, contribute to team building and morale, resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Management and delegation: utilize available communication and documentation technology, assist in locating information regarding clinical situations, diagnoses, treatments.
  • Contribute to the knowledge and skill of other nursing staff through formal or informal teaching, shared governance groups, professional publications and/or presentations.
  • Demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning and current nursing practice.
  • Communicate effectively in various formats across all practice areas.
  • Demonstrate leadership in professional practice and the profession.
  • Evaluate own practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (preferred).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Effective communication in English.
  • Two (2) years of ICU RN experience in an acute‑care setting (strongly preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

The work involves considerable exertion such as frequent lifting of patients and equipment, bending and stooping, and walking. The environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, including risk of exposure to contagious disease, radiation, infection, emotionally disturbed patients. Protective clothing or gear may be required.

Base Pay Scale

Generally starting at $96.35 - $111.14 per hour. Final salary determined by internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
