Job Responsibilities- Provide new patient and follow-up management of pediatric Plastic Surgery patients in an outpatient setting, including independent APP clinics and shared Plastic Surgery surgeon clinics.
- Provide comprehensive ambulatory care for pediatric Plastic Surgery patients: history and physical exams, assessment and management of non-operative Plastic Surgery conditions, post-operative follow-up, wound and scar evaluations, and coordination of care for complex patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies; order and manage medications; develop treatment plans; coordinate referrals; assist with surgical candidacy and surgical planning in collaboration with the Plastic Surgery team.
- Coordinate and support the multidisciplinary Cleft Craniofacial program: support clinic preparation and follow-up, facilitate team communication, prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, participate in surgical planning conferences, support quality, accreditation, and program-development activities.
- Coordinate communication with families, community providers, and internal team members; partner with clinic leadership, nursing, and administrative staff for efficient, family-centered care.
- Maintain strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, and professionalism; work collaboratively across disciplines; interest in pediatric Plastic Surgery, cleft, craniofacial care, wound care, post-operative management, interdisciplinary program coordination, and family-centered care is highly desirable.
- 5 years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience (strongly preferred)
- Spanish fluency (strongly preferred)
- Pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Cleft Craniofacial experience preferred
- Pediatric Plastic Surgery experience preferred
- Experience working in multidisciplinary clinic settings preferred
- Experience with quality improvement, accreditation preparation, or program development preferred

Job SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) positions are part of a collaborative team consisting of Attending Physicians, Fellows, and a team of advanced practice providers both NPs and PAs. The APP team actively participates in the education of fellows and visiting residents, and is responsible for receiving sign-out, pre-rounding on assigned patients, developing plans of care, presenting on rounds, writing daily notes, implementing agreed plans, and responding to issues raised by nursing staff.
Credentialed procedures may include intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, PD drain placement, chest tube removal, and pacing wire removal.
- Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns according to standardized procedures.
- Obtains complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings.
- Performs or requests and evaluates diagnostic studies as indicated.
- Administers, orders, furnishes, and prescribes medications.
- Orders specimens for routine lab tests, screening procedures, therapeutic procedures, including blood products.
- Orders physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services.
