Discover What It's Like to Practice at Stanford At Stanford Health Care, anesthesia is more than a service line—it's a specialty at the forefront of innovation, education, and patient care. As our surgical programs continue to grow and new operating rooms come online, we are expanding our CRNA team from 60 to 75 providers and are seeking talented CRNAs who want to be part of a collaborative, high-performing anesthesia department.

A Practice Designed for Professional Satisfaction Stanford utilizes an Anesthesia Care Team (ACT) model, with CRNAs and anesthesiologists working together in a collaborative and collegial environment. Our anesthesiologist-to-CRNA ratio is typically 1:3, supporting both autonomy and teamwork while ensuring exceptional patient care.

One of the things our CRNAs value most is the culture of mutual respect between CRNAs and anesthesiologists. We are proud of the strong professional relationships that exist throughout the department and the shared commitment to clinical excellence.

As an academic medical center, Stanford is also home to one of the nation's leading anesthesiology residency programs. Education is part of our DNA, and our department regularly hosts Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs) from the UC Davis and Samuel Merritt University CRNA programs. Whether you enjoy mentoring future providers or simply appreciate practicing in a learning-focused environment, you'll find opportunities to contribute and grow.

Schedule and Work-Life Balance We currently have openings for:
• 0.9 FTE positions
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Occasional 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM shifts (approximately once per month)
Perhaps most importantly, these positions offer something many anesthesia providers are seeking:
• No scheduled nights
• No call requirements
• No weekend requirements

This schedule allows our CRNAs to enjoy meaningful time away from work while still practicing in a challenging and rewarding clinical environment.
