Description:

The Pediatric Anesthesia Resource Center (PARC) Clinical Nurse is responsible for performing, during a phone appointment with the family and patient, the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) in consultation/collaboration with interdisciplinary members of the patient care team. The PARC RN will also work in conjunction with the PARC NP’s and MD’s to complete the Anesthesia care plan. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to our patients.

Possesses the ability to assess and interpret appropriate data relative to age and to provide nursing care as described in the unit’s policies and procedures: demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span; and possess an understanding of the range of treatments needed by patients. Pediatric Anesthesia Resource Center also includes the Pre-Operative area (Pre Op).

These areas are dedicated to the preparation of patients having surgery or other procedures under general anesthesia. Services include urology, ENT, neurosurgery, general pediatric surgery, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, plastics, cardiology, interventional radiology (IR), radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and MRI/CT. Our Multidisciplinary team not only supports our 7 OR’s, Cardiac Cath Lab, and APU, but also the Bass Center PACU, and APU PACU.

Schedule:

80 hours bi weekly, 4/10 hour schedules.

Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the adult. The Clinical Nurse II works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age appropriate considerations of assigned patients.
