The division of Endocrinology, Gerontology and Metabolism has a long history of major contributions in basic and clinical research, a record of training fellows for academic and clinical careers, and a commitment to providing care for patients with complex endocrine diseases.
The Endocrinology division is dedicated to the mission of the School of Medicine of advancing and exploring innovative and novel biomedical, translational and clinical research and education through the nurturing and stimulation of interactions among basic and clinical scientists, clinicians and educators throughout the School of Medicine and University as well as with the private and public sectors.
Join a dynamic and collaborative team of attendings, fellows, and advanced practice providers (APPs). This unique opportunity allows you to be the first APP on an inpatient diabetes consulting service, allowing you to work closely with attending endocrinologists to develop this role, while enhancing your clinical experience and professional growth.
The Inpatient Diabetes APP (NP or PA) will round with the team, develop treatment plans, enter orders, perform procedures, write patient notes, etc. The ideal candidate for this role would have at least 1 year of inpatient or outpatient endocrinology or diabetes experience or inpatient experience in a primary medicine setting.

Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the PA and his/her supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, the Credentials & Privileges Committee, the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Committee and the SHC Board Credentials, Policies and Procedures Committee.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under this Nurse Practitioner Job Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). The NP provides routine are and management of the patient with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with the supervising physician, and through implementation of standardized procedures.
