The Ross Laboratory at Stanford University is seeking a Basic Life Research Scientist at 80% FTE. The Ross Lab is led by Jason Ross, MD, PhD, and is situated within the Stanford University School of Medicine's Department of Radiation Oncology. The laboratory studies normal and malignant stem cells in the context of aging and cancer. In this 80% FTE position, the Research Scientist will establish the laboratory’s experimental protocols, technical capabilities, and regulatory framework, and will support the scientific work of the group across stem cell biology, immunology, and cancer biology.

The Research Scientist will be responsible for designing and executing experiments, preparing and maintaining regulatory protocols, and serving as the laboratory's point of contact with regulatory offices and core facilities, developing and validating assays and experimental protocols, assisting other laboratory members with the design and execution of their experiments, and guiding the analysis and presentation of data. In addition, the individual will work alongside the PI to serve as a mentor to junior lab members, including students and postdoctoral fellows.
