Computer Science Department

Founded in 1965, the Stanford Computer Science (CS) Department continues to lead the world in computer science research and education. Throughout the past five decades, the Stanford CS Department has influenced society at levels that remain without parallel among academic institutions. Its spin-offs are among the most successful corporate ventures in the world, and many of the leaders in academic and corporate research world are graduates of the Stanford CS Department.

The Computer Science Department is seeking a Faculty Affairs and Staffing Manager. This position is part of the Computer Science Department’s central administrative team and its main focus is Faculty Affairs for 70+ faculty and supervision of the Faculty Affairs Administrator
1. This position reports to the Department Director of Finance and Operations and works closely with the department chair and School of Engineering Faculty Affairs.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days/week working at the Stanford main campus, subject to operational needs.

Preferred Education & Experience
  • Demonstrated Faculty Affairs experience.
  • Ability to work with a high volume of applications and long forms annually.
  • Experience with FASA.
  • Knowledge of Stanford HR processes and benefits.
  • J-1, H-1, O-1, TN, E3 and green card processing experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
