Software Product Manager, Vehicle Operations
Tesla's Vehicle Engineering department is responsible for the mechanical and industrial design of all major programs, for example, batteries, Optimus, Robotaxi, and all new factories. Design Technology, which is part of Vehicle Engineering, is responsible for making the tools these engineers use every bit as intelligent and dynamic as the products themselves.
As a Software Product Manager on the Design Technology team, you will be responsible for keeping our design systems up to date, maintaining our JIRA dashboards, uptime graphs for services, and working on generalist engineering tasks including optimizing and automating the transfer of CAD data between different design systems.
Joining our team means directly impacting Tesla's ability to communicate critical design data as the company scales to ship millions of products a year from factories around the world.
What to Expect What You'll Do- Run twice-weekly sessions for non-3DX ops, triaging tickets and guiding teams (DTSS, EAS, firmware) on licensing and infra issues
- Reboot/delete VMs, test runbooks, install 3DX tools, and apply Dassault best practices for uptime
- Verify requirements for applications, maintain dashboards for visibility, and add system checks
- Identify gaps, handle routines, and escalates smartly; basic infra knowledge (e.g., VMs, K8s) a plus
- Thrive in ambiguity; pivot quickly between tasks using kubectl, Jira, or scripting
- Work on add-on needs like license predictions and V-OPS incidents
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in one or more developer skills (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C/C++ or other common industry languages)
- Strong CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms
- Experience making technical trade‑off decisions on software solutions

Expected Compensation $96,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
