Tesla is seeking a Technical Lead for the Infotainment Applications Engineering team — the group responsible for the user interfaces and applications that power the Tesla in-vehicle experience. From media streaming and video games to navigation, 3D rendering, and the future of Self-Driving and Robotaxi, we build the software that millions of Tesla customers interact with every day.
We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide a small team of engineers while driving the creation, development, and evolution of Tesla’s customer-facing experiences. In this role you will set technical direction, mentor team members, ensure high standards of code quality and architecture, and collaborate closely with Hardware, Software, Game Development, QA, and Design teams. Your leadership will directly shape how customers around the world experience our vehicles.

What You'll Do
Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and fostering professional growthDefine and evolve the architecture, user experience, and front-end graphics for in-car infotainment applicationsDrive rapid prototyping of new customer experiences while ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainabilityDesign, code, and debug core UI interfaces and frameworks, balancing hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, QA, and Designers) to deliver polished, high-quality featuresEstablish and enforce best practices for multithreaded, high-performance code and intuitive user interfacesPartner with product and design stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plansWhat You'll Bring
Proven experience leading or managing a small engineering team (or equivalent technical leadership roles) with a track record of delivering customer-facing softwareStrong proficiency in C++ and deep understanding of fundamental Computer Science conceptsExperience writing and shipping high-quality, production customer-facing codeDemonstrated ability to architect and deliver state-of-the-art user interfaces or acclaimed consumer applicationsExperience with multithreaded applications and high-performance web development frameworks (e.g., Svelte, React
JS)Excellent software engineering practices with high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performanceStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional stakeholdersAptitude for building intuitive, fluid user experiences and a willingness to learn new technologies across the stackPassion for cutting-edge in-vehicle technology and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentBenefits

$140,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
