Job Overview

Senior Platform Engineer – SAP Data Accelerator, Big Data Fabric Services (BDFS). Build secure data access and connectivity capabilities for SAP business data.

• Design, code, test, and support platform capabilities for secure partner connectivity.
• Drive platform decisions balancing security, scalability, operability, and product evolution.
• Develop in Java, Python, Go (Rust advantage).
• Collaborate with agile team using Scrum; self‑organize and achieve objectives.
• Mentor team members and promote engineering excellence.
• Support technical discussions, architectural topics, and platform strategy.
• Build PoCs, evaluate technical options, and drive engineering decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, IT, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering.
• Advanced or fluent English proficiency.
• Excellent programming skills with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and Big‑O.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Python, and/or Go in cloud‑native and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies.
• Strong expertise in networking concepts for distributed systems, secure partner connectivity, and cloud environments.
• Experience with secure connectivity patterns (OAuth
  2.0, mTLS, multi‑tenant design, proxy/tunnel architectures).
• Experience with production hardening, SRE practices, observability, scalable multi‑tenant service operation.
• Experience with metrics, tracing, health checks, alerting, Open Telemetry.
• Experience with scalability, autoscaling, capacity management, performance tuning.
• Experience with secure software engineering, threat modeling, automated testing across unit, integration, E2E, and scale scenarios.
• Knowledge of AI‑assisted and agentic engineering tools.
• Strong expertise in SAP backend integration (ECC/S4
  
  HANA, Net Weaver) and extensibility.
• Experience shaping technical direction for secure partner connectivity and SAP data access scenarios.
• Experience designing API‑driven platform capabilities (self‑service enrollment, endpoint discovery, connection/session management).
• Experience shaping control‑plane and data‑plane architectures.
• Willingness to take ownership and drive new developments creatively.
• Demonstrates high commitment, team spirit, flexibility, initiative.

• Rust development experience.
• ABAP development experience.
• Experience building SAP add‑ons or backend extensions.
• Experience using AI‑assisted or agentic tools across the SDLC.

Compensation range: $198,200 - $420,000 USD annually (base salary + variable incentive). Travel expected 0‑10%.
