What To Expect

Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full‑time (40 hours/week) and on‑site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full‑time positions, not internships.

International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on‑site. Many students will be limited to part‑time during the academic year.

Charging

Product Management Internship

Bring impactful EV and Robot Charging solutions to the market. The Tesla Commercial Charging Product team is responsible for scoping and delivering the Software and Hardware roadmap for Supercharging, Commercial AC Charging and next‑gen charging products for the Robotaxi and Optimus Robot. In this role, you will take ownership of select Commercial Charging roadmap deliverables and be responsible for discovering customer pain points, writing the Product Requirements Document and working with cross‑functional teams to launch the solution.

You will work closely with engineering, design and business teams to make tradeoffs and report on outcomes to leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Scope and document technical requirements for Commercial Charging products – Supercharger, AC Commercial Chargers & chargers for next gen Tesla products
  • Prepare internal and external documents for product launch
  • Organize/participate and lead internal demos of product features
  • Work with Program and Product managers to track progress/highlight risks and help resolve them
  • Collect primary and secondary customer research
  • Analyze and derive actionable insights from Tesla datasets
  • Present business & engineering tradeoffs to leadership
What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Ability to communicate problem statement and tradeoffs clearly
  • Background in energy or charging systems or UI design a plus
  • User research or customer discovery analysis a plus
  • Ability to query databases and pull together metrics and visualizations for analysis

Expected Compensation

$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
