Senior Agentic AI Engineer

Senior Agentic AI Engineer – Hybrid role based out of Palo Alto, CA.

Help build the next generation of AI-enabled applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Join the BTP Product Management Regional Implementation Group (RIG), a hands‑on team focused on bringing the latest SAP innovations into real customer environments.

• Design and implement production‑intent solutions on SAP Business AI Platform for customers across the Americas, focusing on AI‑enabled scenarios such as custom agents, intelligent applications, and workflows.
• Collaborate closely with product manager, development architect, and customer technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable architectures and support adoption of new technologies.
• Stay current on SAP product releases and platform capabilities, evaluating suitability for use cases and advising on architectural approaches, implementation strategies, and technical trade‑offs.
• Provide structured product feedback from real customer engagements to SAP Product Management and Architecture teams.
• Create sample implementations, reference architectures, configuration examples, and developer enablement materials to support internal teams and future customers.

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; 4+ years of software development experience building and shipping production systems.
• Recognized go‑to developer for complex technical challenges on the team.
• Strong full‑stack engineering fundamentals across frontend (React, Angular, Vue, UI5), backend (Python, Node.js, Java, Go), APIs, data integrations, and Dev Ops/CI‑CD.
• Proficiency in modern cloud‑native development (AWS, Azure, GCP, or SAP BTP) and Docker.
• Practical AI expertise: generative AI, LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, agentic architectures; delivered production‑grade AI solutions.
• Experience building agents with modern frameworks/protocols such as MCP, A2A, Lang Graph, CrewAI, etc.
• Understanding of LLM production concerns – grounding, guardrails, latency, cost optimization, observability.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, vector stores, relational databases, and embedding pipelines.
• Independent, proactive, able to set own priorities and deliver end‑to‑end.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; partners cross‑functional teams.
• Cloud‑first mindset, effective in globally distributed, cross‑cultural environment.
• Passionate about continuous learning and turning AI ideas into production‑grade solutions.
• Experience on SAP BTP / SAP Build / Joule or SAP AI Core.
• Internal candidates with SAP technology expertise are encouraged.

Target combined salary range for this position: USD 131,000 – 222,700. Actual offer within range depending on education, skills, experience, scope, location, etc.
