What to Expect

To support Tesla's innovative battery manufacturing scale‑up, the Supplier Industrialization Engineering (SIE) team works closely with suppliers to ensure robust production systems, data integrity, and quality control. This role is responsible for developing and improving supplier Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), enabling reliable data integration between suppliers and Tesla, and building scalable data systems for production monitoring and analysis.

You will work cross‑functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to drive system implementation, data standardization, and continuous improvement. You will work with large data sets, finding best ways to engineer the data to help create critical KPI metrics, build innovative visualizations and dashboards. The work environment is demanding, fast‑paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join a highly motivated and capable team to make unbelievable things into reality.

What

You’ll Do
  • Assess supplier manufacturing systems and identify gaps in MES, traceability, and data integrity

  • Design, implement, or improve MES solutions at supplier sites to support production workflows and genealogy tracking

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines (APIs, ETL) to enable reliable data transfer between supplier systems and Tesla

  • Build and manage cloud‑based databases for collecting and storing supplier production and equipment data

  • Analyze high‑volume manufacturing data to generate insights on production performance, quality, and process stability and predict the impact of supplier materials on the cell performance, utilizing strong statistics knowledge

  • Create dashboards and visualization tools to monitor supplier KPIs and support cross‑functional decision making

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deploy scalable, secure, and reliable software and data solutions

What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in MES or manufacturing systems; preferred 8 years

  • Hands‑on experience with MES implementation, customization, or integration in manufacturing environments

  • Strong programming and data skills (e.g., Python, SQL), statistics knowledge, and experience with APIs or ETL pipelines

  • Experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, or similar) and data modeling

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including workflows, traceability, and quality systems

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with internal teams and external suppliers in a fast‑paced environment

  • Work well under pressure while collaborating and managing competing demands with tight deadlines

Expected Compensation

$108,000 – $240,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
