Software Development Engineer II, AWS Data Processing and Analytics team

We are building the next generation serverless analytics platform that executes Apache Spark, Python and other runtime engines. We are scaling the backend infrastructure to enable super‑low latencies for workloads at a massive scale. The team owns the product and backend, delivering a unique experience.
Key responsibilities- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design and extensible code.
- Technically lead a team of engineers on complex projects.
- Advocate industry best‑practices to produce reliable, fault‑tolerant and dependable code.
- Code and test complex system modules; develop and leverage frameworks to be efficient.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to maintain high development standards.
- Own system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate and influence other teams to deliver and operate large‑scale, distributed services.
- Mentor other engineers, defining a challenging technical culture, and help build a fast‑growing team.
- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and existing systems).
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Base salary range: $165,200 – $223,600 USD annually.
