Software Development Engineer, AWS EMR

Amazon EMR is the industry leading cloud-native big data platform for processing vast amounts of data quickly and cost-effectively ng open source tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Apache HBase, Apache Flink, and Presto, coupled with the dynamic scalability of Amazon EC2 and scalable storage of Amazon S3, EMR gives analytical teams the engines and elasticity to run Petabyte-scale analysis for a fraction of the cost of traditional on‑premises clusters.

In this role you will collaborate with senior and principal engineers on innovative new features such as a next‑generation cluster and work‑management system, real‑time processing improvements, and customer‑facing data interaction tools. You will work with AWS stack components including DynamoDB, Lambdas, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, EC2, and others.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) for new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Use and knowledge of GenAI tooling will be a plus.
