Job Description Summary
Fenwick is seeking a temporary Financial Application Developer to provide technical expertise and support for the Firm’s financial applications and related software. The role bridges functional and technical aspects of the Firm’s financial systems and contributes to modernization efforts, including automation and AI capabilities. This full‑time exempt position is a 12‑month temporary assignment that can be based in any U.S. office location or a limited remote location.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and implement custom application components, including user interfaces, middle‑tier logic, and stored procedures.
- Support packaged financial systems and maintain database‑level integrity.
- Provide Microsoft Windows desktop support and resolve application‑related issues for end users.
- Collaborate with business process owners to gather, analyze, and document technical and functional requirements.
- Develop integrations and automate workflows using APIs, data exchange tools, AI services, and intelligent automation tools.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and testing processes.
- Recommend and implement system and process improvements, including automation or AI‑enabled tools where appropriate.
- Maintain thorough documentation for development, support, and system changes.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users and maintain confidentiality of Firm and client financial data.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in application development, including user interface design, middle‑tier logic, and database stored procedures.
- Strong understanding of programming logic, data structures, workflows, and system integrations.
- Experience with SQL querying, database support, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows desktop and application support.
- Experience with APIs, integration techniques, software implementations, and upgrades.
- Knowledge of application testing, deployment, and documentation principles.
- Hands‑on experience or strong familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools.

- Excellent customer service skills and responsiveness to inquiries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years of related experience supporting and developing financial applications, preferably within a law firm or similar professional services environment.
Benefits and Compensation DetailsThe anticipated range for this position is $115,000 – $172,750. Base salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location. A discretionary bonus may also be available based on performance. Temporary employees are generally not entitled to benefits.
