ESXi CPU Server Architect / SW Engineer
Overview
:
Our team focuses on the virtualization technology of ESXi, a specialized operating system and infrastructure designed specifically for hosting virtual machines. This role is part of the ESXi-x86 kernel development team, which supports the x86 architecture and handles all aspects of hypervisor software development on Intel/AMD x86 hardware.
We are in charge of core CPU, hardware platforms, and virtualization. We collaborate with Intel, AMD, and partners to integrate new technologies. We work closely with other departments and business units to support a broad spectrum of technologies and research future‑proof capabilities for the hypervisor. We also troubleshoot and resolve issues with customers as needed.
Role OverviewAs an engineer, you will work on large‑scale system and hardware enablement projects focused on x86‑based CPUs and servers. You will collaborate with various teams to develop a cohesive platform that integrates with ESXi. You need strong expertise in x86 CPU architecture, comfort with all technical aspects of the project, and ability to represent the team internally and externally, including partner interactions.
You will work with partner software development teams to jointly create solutions for ESXi, across the full stack from bootloaders to configuration scripts.
