KronosAI is building an AI-native interface for multiphysics simulation. Our solver systems already work. Now we need to turn them into a closed-beta product that engineers can use through a conversational, auditable workflow.
Role Description
We are hiring a hands-on senior engineer who can ship the hardest parts of that product and make a small engineering team faster. You will code alongside the team, help define what to build, and work through technical decisions collaboratively with engineers and founders.
What you will do
- Own important product paths from an ambiguous user need through production.
- Build across the chat experience, agent behavior, backend workflows, simulation results, and visualization.
- Break large goals into small releases that produce useful customer feedback.
- Use coding agents heavily while reviewing their output with strong technical judgment.
- Improve how the team develops, tests, and ships software.
What we are looking for
- Roughly 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience
- A record of personally shipping meaningful products in a high-performance startup or similarly demanding team.
- Broad product ownership across technical layers.
- Power-user fluency with modern coding agents.
- A collaborative style that improves the speed and quality of the engineers around you.
Experience with AI-agent products, scientific visualization, distributed compute, or numerical software is useful but not required. Our stack is fluid. We care more about what you have shipped and how quickly you can learn.
This is a full-time hybrid role with three days per week in Palo Alto. Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States and able to start without waiting for a new visa lottery.
Base salary is $150,000 to $220,000, depending on experience, plus equity.
Our process includes a short conversation, a timed asynchronous shipping exercise, and one final team discussion. The exercise uses a realistic product problem and a fixed working time box. You may use the coding agents and workflow you use in your normal work. We evaluate what you ship, how you scope the problem, how you supervise agent output, and the tradeoffs you make under time pressure.
The goal is to understand your real working process and shipping velocity, rather than your ability to perform in a live interview. There are no algorithm puzzles or live-coding sessions.
