"Job Description Summary

Fenwick is seeking an Applications Developer to join the Solutions & Automation team. This role is ideal for a curious early-career developer who wants hands‑on exposure to enterprise applications, AI-enabled tools, cloud services, data platforms, and modern automation practices. The Solutions & Automation team designs, builds, and supports technology solutions that improve efficiency, automate business processes, and enable innovation across the firm.

This position offers broad exposure across the software development lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers on real, production‑facing systems while developing foundational skills in application development, automation, data, and cloud technologies.

• Build and enhance internal web applications, business tools, APIs, and integrations.
• Support AI and automation initiatives involving Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services, internal AI platforms, workflow automation, and AI-enabled search.
• Work with SQL databases, reporting solutions, dashboards, and data‑driven process improvements.
• Participate in Azure-hosted application work, cloud migration efforts, and projects that stabilize, simplify, and modernize existing systems.
• Help troubleshoot issues, document systems, and streamline manual processes.
• Contribute ideas that improve user experience and team efficiency.
• Work with stakeholders on their respective projects, gathering requirements and communicating progress clearly.
• Follow through on assigned work with reliable ownership from start to finish.
• Look for simple, secure, and supportable ways to improve systems and processes.
• Learn and apply new technologies and platforms quickly as project needs evolve.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Senior Solutions & Automation Manager, the ideal candidate will have 3 years + of related hands‑on experience in a professional services environment.

Exposure to cloud platforms and AI or automation tools is a plus.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.

• Fundamental understanding of programming concepts and software development.
• Familiarity with at least one modern programming language.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear communication and willingness to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Curiosity about AI, automation, cloud platforms, and business process improvement.
• Fast learner who builds skills quickly and stays open to new technologies.
• Reliable owner who follows through on assigned work and communicates progress clearly.

Exposure to any of the following is a plus:

• C# and .NET/ASP.NET
• SQL Server and cloud data platforms
• Azure services and Azure AI services
• Microsoft Copilot Studio and AI service APIs
• Power Platform, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365
• REST APIs, JavaScript or Type Script, Git, and Dev Ops practices
• Power BI and reporting solutions
• Databricks or Fabric
• Python.

The anticipated range for this position is: $115,000 - $172,750
