Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club is seeking energetic and responsible Summer Camp Counselors to support our custom, in‑house summer camp program. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM over 9‑10 weeks during the summer. Counselors are ideally able to commit to one week at a time.
Our camps serve children ages 5–14 and feature rotating weekly themes with a geographic focus, giving campers the opportunity to explore different countries, cultures, customs, and foods. Daily programming includes sports, crafts, educational activities, and swimming.
RESPONSIBILTIES- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all campers.
- Lead and participate in camp activities, including sports, crafts, and educational programming.
- Assist with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and positive behavior support.
- Support the Camps Manager with daily activity preparation, setup, and cleanup.
- Actively supervise campers during all activities, including daily in‑water swimming sessions.
- Maintain professionalism, good judgment, and a positive attitude at all times.
- Follow all club policies, safety guidelines, and camp procedures.
- Previous experience working with children preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
- Self‑motivated, reliable, and attentive.
- Comfortable being physically active throughout the day.
- Willing and able to assist children during emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Be able to be fairly active and attentive to children.
- Ability to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Must be able to handle indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Occasionally works in areas with moving mechanical parts; may come into contact with fumes, open flames, hot and cold surfaces, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
- Comfortable being in the water daily during swim activities.
- Be professional at all times.
- Be prepared to get in the water every day for our in‑water swimming portion.
- Have good judgment and attitude.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 30 pounds.
- CPR and First Aid certification encouraged.
- Teaching credentials or experience teaching elementary and/or middle school is strongly preferred.
- This is a seasonal part‑time non‑exempt position with an hourly rate of $20.00.
- This position requires a flexible schedule for working evenings, weekends, and holidays as determined by business needs.
