Job Overview

Our client is a growing nonprofit organization that is seeking an Accountant to join their team. This hands‑on role supports day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations for a mission‑based organization. You’ll play a key role in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and grant management, helping the Finance team maintain accuracy and compliance while contributing to meaningful work in the community.

$65,000.00/yr – $75,000.00/yr

Fully on-site in the Southwest suburb of Chicago (Palos Heights, IL)

• Manage AP/AR transactions, payroll support, and general accounting tasks
• Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with monthly financial reports and year‑end audit preparation
• Support grant reporting and budget reconciliations
• Review payroll data for accuracy and assist with processing
• Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies
• Take initiative to learn and handle accounting responsibilities independently

• 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience (AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations)
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Quick Books Online experience preferred
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Attention to detail, persistence, and ability to work independently
