Adjunct Academic Advisor (Part-Time)

• Provides educational information about college academic programs and services for prospective and currently enrolled students.
• Orients new students toward an informed and successful start to their college experience.
• Assists students in assessing interests and abilities by examining educational goals, making decisions and developing short and long-term educational plans to meet objectives.
• Interprets and reviews college placement examinations (Advanced Placement, ACT/SAT scores, IB, CLEP) to ensure proper course selection.
• Provides accurate and timely information related to career programs and transfer courses; demonstrates knowledge of educational, institutional, corporate and community resources and other college-wide programs and services.
• Presents on academic advising services to groups of students, classes, parents, and/or college staff.
• Provides programming and interventions directly supporting students.

• Bachelor’s degree and related experience, training, and knowledge in individual and group advising process related to college student academic and personal development.

• Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of community college students.

• Strong commitment to student‑centered learning focusing on student development and success.

• Knowledge of academic advising theories and practices supporting teaching, learning, and human development.

• Prior experience working with a variety of students, including diverse academic preparedness, multicultural, linguistic diversity, and economic status.

• Fluency in more than one language encouraged.

Part‑time.

Approx. 27 hours per week. Evening and occasional weekend hours required; at least one evening per week. Center hours: 8:30 am–6:00 pm Monday‑Tuesday; 8:30 am–5:00 pm Wednesday‑Friday.

$27.00 / hour (hourly).
