• Provides educational information about college academic programs and services for prospective and currently enrolled students.
• Orients new students toward an informed and successful start to their college experience.
• Assists students in assessing their interest and abilities by examining their educational goals, making decisions and developing short and long‑term educational plans to meet their planned objectives.
• Interprets and reviews college placement examinations, Advanced Placement (AP), ACT / SAT scores, IB and CLEP to ensure proper course selection.
• Provides accurate and timely information related to Career Programs and Transfer courses.
• Demonstrates knowledge about educational, institutional, corporate and community resources, as well as other college-wide programs and services.
• Presents on Academic Advising services to groups of students, classes, parents, and/or college staff.
• Provides programming and interventions in which Academic Advisors directly support students.

• Strong commitment to student‑centered learning that focuses on the development and success of the student.
• Knowledge of academic advising theories and practices that support teaching, learning, and human development.
• Prior experience working with a variety of students that include various levels of academic preparedness, multicultural and linguistic diversity, and economic status.
• Individuals with fluency in more than one language are encouraged to apply.
