OverviewCroell, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, hands‑on Construction Crew Superintendent to lead and work alongside crews specialized in the assembly and erection of Ready‑Mix concrete plants. This role is primarily focused within the Southwest Region (including Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas) with additional travel as needed. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who takes pride in building projects from the ground up, thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment, and is committed to delivering quality results safely and efficiently.
This is not a sit‑in‑the‑truck supervisory position. The Construction Crew Superintendent will hire and train their own team of four to six employees. You will be expected to actively participate in daily construction activities while leading a crew, coordinating project schedules, maintaining jobsite safety, and ensuring work is completed to Croell's quality standards. Successful candidates will possess strong leadership abilities, construction expertise, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to lead by example.
This position requires extensive travel and a flexible schedule. Candidates should expect frequent overnight travel, extended stays away from home, and long workdays driven by project timelines. The ideal candidate adapts well to changing jobsite conditions and enjoys the challenge of completing projects in a variety of locations.

- Lead construction crews through all phases of projects, including planning, construction, and project closeout.
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, vendors, and company leadership.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, schedules, and required paperwork.
- Manage labor resources, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations, company policies, and project requirements.
- Actively work alongside crew members during construction activities.
- Actively work alongside crew members to assemble, bolt, and weld ready‑mix plant structural components, including silos, aggregate bins, batchers, and conveyor systems.
- Assemble and install structural steel, metal frameworks, buildings, and related components.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Perform welding, torch cutting, fabrication, and structural modifications as needed.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of lifts, cranes, elevated work platforms, and other construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintenance involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Assist with facility construction, plant setup, and equipment installation projects.
- Work at heights and in varying terrain while maintaining safe work practices (harness).
- Oversee and assist with critical rigging, signaling, and the precision placement of heavy structural modules using cranes and elevated work platforms.
- Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting to test all plant functions, ensuring gates, belts, and systems operate correctly before final handoff.
- Proactively order materials and coordinate deliveries to jobsites.
- Travel extensively to support projects located throughout Croell's operating regions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and operational needs.
- Strong leadership and time management skills with the ability to manage crews, schedules, deadlines, and project priorities.
