Assistant Finance Director

Assists the Director of Finance in planning and directing the Finance Department operations, including preparation of the annual budget, and supervises accounting activities of the financial service department. This is accomplished by preparing monthly financial reports and comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFR), researching and implementing new requirements and accounting principles, scheduling the year-end closings, managing the annual audit activities, directing the preparation of other financial analyses, complex financial reports, budgets, and contracts, and managing compliance with City and department policies and procedures.

Serves as the lead resource on all grant-related activities and exercises independent judgment and discretion in the development, evaluation, and oversight of grant strategies, funding opportunities, proposal development, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements. Provides high-level strategic and policy guidance to City leadership and departments to ensure alignment with City priorities, funding objectives, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

$67,407 - $90,332 Annually

M-F, 8-5

• Graduated from an accredited four‑year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business, or public administration, or a closely related field.
• One year of progressively responsible municipal accounting or finance work and/or seven years of progressively responsible accounting work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
