Position: Blaster (Night Shift)
  • Follow supervisor instructions to safely move wind tower sections, set up, and operate media blasting equipment in alignment with the daily production schedule.
  • Perform precision media blasting of tower sections to meet detailed customer specifications before submitting components for quality inspection.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet production targets; maintain and take ownership of provided tools and equipment.
  • Execute tasks with accuracy and urgency to ensure timely delivery of defect‑free products.
  • Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by embracing Lean Manufacturing principles and supporting change initiatives.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean & organized work area; utilize safe work habits.
  • Perform other work‑related tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing, blasting, or industrial surface preparation is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings is a plus.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with standard and metric measurements are helpful.
  • Must be able to work safely, follow procedures, and wear required PPE for extended periods.
  • Forklift or crane certifications are a bonus but not mandatory.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to work well in a team environment as well as self‑directed when working independently.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross‑trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
  • Be able to stand for long periods while using a high‑pressure blast hose.
  • Be able to wear a fresh air supplied blast helmet for up to 10‑12 hours a day.
