Midwest Compressor Systems is seeking an Instrumentation & Electronic Technician to support our industrial compressed air and vacuum solutions across the Midwest. In this field-based role, you will install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems on compressors and related equipment in manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs and control circuits, performing preventative maintenance, supporting system start ups and commissioning, and documenting all service work.

You'll work closely with a tight knit team in a family-owned, safety-focused environment that values craftsmanship, integrity, and long-term customer relationships. This position offers hands-on technical work, direct customer interaction, and opportunities to advance into senior service, project, or sales roles as you deepen your expertise in compressed air and vacuum technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and electronic controls on compressed air and vacuum systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and control issues on compressors and related equipment at customer sites
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing to ensure safe, reliable system performance
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation to diagnose problems
  • Support system start ups, commissioning, and field modifications for new and upgraded installations
  • Document work performed, parts used, and test results in service reports and maintenance records
  • Collaborate with technicians, project managers, and sales to resolve customer issues and optimize systems
  • Provide on site customer support, training, and recommendations for energy efficient solutions
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and company standards while working in industrial environments
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on controls, instrumentation, and compressor technologies
