The Receiving & Dispatcher position is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by ensuring inbound materials are accurately received, documented, and entered into system records while also assisting with dispatch coordination and material movement. This role requires strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work across receiving, inventory, and dispatch functions to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive inbound materials and verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and related documentation.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and communicate issues to the appropriate team members.
- Complete accurate system transactions for receipts and maintain organized receiving records and supporting documentation.
- Support daily dispatch activities by coordinating requests, preparing materials, and helping ensure timely movement of items.
- Maintain receiving and dispatch logs, monitor workflow status, and provide updates as needed.
- Assist with inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, material staging, labeling, and location accuracy.
- Operate within company safety standards and keep the receiving and dispatch areas clean, organized, and audit-ready.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
- Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a warehouse environment where both physical activity and computer-based tracking are required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, receiving, dispatch, shipping, or inventory control experience preferred.
- Experience using inventory, ERP, or warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Ability to work with accuracy, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and compare shipping, receiving, and inventory documents accurately.
- Ability to work safely and follow warehouse procedures and policies.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn warehouse or inventory systems.
