Senior Preconstruction Manager

Cardella Construction Company is seeking an Senior Preconstruction Manager/Preconstruction Director to lead our preconstruction presence in Northwest Florida. Based in our Panama City Beach office, this individual will serve as the regional leader for preconstruction - partnering with ownership, clients, architects, and operations teams to drive successful pursuits from concept through contract award. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of Cardella's growing Northwest Florida operations by building relationships, developing talent, and creating the processes that will support our continued growth.

What you'll be up to:

• Lead multiple commercial pursuits from conceptual design through contract execution, ensuring exceptional client service and project outcomes.
• Serve as the regional preconstruction leader for Northwest Florida, helping establish best practices, standards, and processes.
• Partner with ownership and business development teams to cultivate client relationships and support strategic growth initiatives.
• Lead conceptual estimating, value engineering, budgeting, procurement strategy, and constructability reviews.
• Develop pursuit strategies that align cost, schedule, quality, and client expectations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and trade partners throughout the region.
• Oversee bid strategy, subcontractor engagement, bid leveling, and procurement planning.
• Identify project risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Operations to ensure seamless project handoffs and successful execution.
• Present estimates, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and project recommendations to executive leadership and clients.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop future members of the preconstruction team as the department continues to grow.
• Champion continuous improvement by refining processes, leveraging technology, and sharing lessons learned across the organization.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
• 15+ years of commercial construction experience, including 8+ years leading preconstruction, estimating, or design-phase services.
• Demonstrated success leading large, complex commercial pursuits from concept through contract award.
• Proven experience building trusted relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Strong leadership experience developing teams, mentoring professionals, and fostering collaboration.
• Expertise in conceptual estimating, value engineering, procurement strategy, constructability reviews, and risk management.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence project strategy and support business development efforts.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office, and estimating software.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
